It's the Most Inovative Time of the Year

Hankmas is a unique set of live sales where we offer new designs/styles of bags in lots of fabrics to decide if we will be adding any of them to our regular line up. Some bags stay forever, some are one and done.  That's the magic of Hankmas!

FAQs

Throughout the year Lindsey complies designs and ideas she wants to try. However, due to the regular sewing schedule, she has to have time to develop them. Enter HANKMAS.

For 12 days in December, each night there is a new bag style in more than 20 different fabrics.

Some of the products become regular items we make part of the catalog, some are never seen again.

You could very likely end up with a one of a kind item that is never made again.

You can shop multiple ways.

In our app: (You can download it here) The live will pop up on the homepage and send you a push notification when we start the live!

Of our Facebook Page: Go back to where it all began and shop on Facebook with your Facebook log in. You claim items by typing "sold" and the number that appears on the screen.

On our website: On our homepage, the live will show up and you can shop there, too.

Hankmas is a unique blend of live sale and preorder.

We don't know what will be a hit or a dud. That's why we do Hankmas!

So that means, we make what we call a "Show set" for each item. After we have the live sale, we then make up all the items that were sold.

This is why it always looks like Hankmas sells out. We only make was sells.

So after all the lives are done, we make up what was ordered, pack up your goodies all in one package, and send them to you in the middle of January.

Since we don't believe in making money on shipping costs, we wait until all of the orders have been placed (generally Jan 2nd) and we combine all the orders in our system.

At that point, we know EXACTLY what it will cost to ship to you depending on where you are and how far that is from our studio.

We then send you a custom invoice for shipping.

After we have made up all of the goodies and the invoice is paid, your items will be mailed.

The most important part is to CHECK OUT WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WANT AN ITEM.

Due to the limited number of items we can offer (time and fabric constraints) if you know you want something. You will want to check out ASAP.

The system does not allow for items in a cart to be held. So, if you want something checkout as quickly as possible. You do not "have" an item until you have processed your order completely.

Can you have 10 orders, YEP!

Will you be charged shipping on all of them, NOPE!

How to Shop

Yes.

However, you will see things move out of your cart during that time.

We recommend checking out when you know you want an item. You can check out as many times as you want with no penalty or additional shipping charges.

This is a limitation of Shopify. They do not allow for items to be help in cart.

We have tried to work around this to no avail. Unfortunately, this is now the way of ecommerce.

You don't have to.

However using ShopPay or PayPal express checkout will always be the fastest way to checkout.

If you do not want to put your details in that system, we recommend getting a white label gift card (like a visa gift card) and storing that information online. Then you can reload your card on your time, but still check out quickly and without having to store your data if you are not comfortable with that.

Because items are not held, the item is not "yours" until checkout is COMPLETED. The same item can be in 100s of carts at the same time.

This is not our choice, this is how Shopify dictates checkout. We cannot change this about Shopify or checkout.

NOPE!

We don't believe in making money on shipping fees. At the end of Hankmas, we will combine all you orders into one package and send you a custom invoice for your specific shipping cost.

Once the items are made up and that invoice is paid, we will ship your goodies.

If you don't pay the shipping invoice, we can't ship your goodies.

Hankmas Policies

Since Hankmas is considered a kind of preorder, we do not accept returns

We are glad to repair your bag for you.

We can fix most things, run away magnets, strap/handles coming loose, snaps that don't snap, and the like.

We cannot repair torn or cut fabric, fabric that has be worn out, or corners that are showing wear. This is the nature of using cotton fabric, and we try to interface everything to make the bag last a long time.

If your bag purchased on the online store or app and and a manufacturing defect, we will gladly send you a return label from our system.

**Please Note: The sewing schedule is set sometimes as far as 18 months out from any given date. that means that repairs are worked into the sewing schedule. From the date the product is received back, repairs can take up to 4-6 weeks' time. During the holidays, that timeline can be longer.

This is because most times repairs require the bag to be disassembled and reassembled to fix the problem.

No. Because Hankmas is essentially a testing ground we often do not know the full extent of the labor of a product. We prototype these products and then decide on the price.

And while we are really good at knowing the time it takes to make a bag, we also sometimes find that a bag has a weird extra step we didn't realize we needed or a foible that takes extra time.

You will earn rewards for all of your Hankmas purchases that you can use throughout the year on the website and app.

Yes! This business was started by me and my mom when things were really hard for our family. Each bag is made one at a time by me and her small team of helpers.

I have an amazing best friend, who does all the drawstrings for us, so if you have a drawstring bag, Jenni made that for you. Everything else is sewn by me, and folded, turned and pressed by my helpers Angie and Michele.

Because of the handmade nature of these items variance in size sometimes will occur. We list all our sizes as approximate as we cut and sew everything by hand. That means sometimes bags are a little bigger or a little smaller than is listed on the website. This is how bag making goes some days.

Care Instructions

These are typically our tote bags. When we say "stands on it's own" we mean the bag with stand up completely empty without any fiddling.

This applies to the Bucket, Barrel, and Ewesful totes.

We recommend putting the empty bag in the washing machine on gentle with a gentle detergent.

When it's done, reshape it and let it air dry.

The product that makes this bag stand up is rubber based and should NEVER be put in a dryer.

When it's done, reshape it and let it air dry.

Please be aware that the muslin lining might shrink slightly more than the printed fabric. This is unavoidable, but will not change how the bag looks or functions.

You can iron your bag on a cotton setting on your iron if you so desire.

You can still wash it.

If your product contains a magnet, they are nickel plated so they will not rust, though, they will, for sure, stick to some part of your washing machine drum.

So make sure to check around the drum as they tend to hide.

Lay flat to dry.

When washing something that contains vinyl, please allow extra time to dry as well as making sure there is space between the vinyl and fabric for the best result.

Please note that excessive washing of clear vinyl (not frosted like in the Pattern Keeper) can and will result in a foggy appearance after time. To prevent that you can always spot clean the bag.

This would apply to View Ewes, Mini Views, and All Stash Finders.

The Pattern Keeper is also washable, but the vinyl is frosted, so it is less likely to have any issues being washed.

Should your pattern transfer to the vinyl in your pattern keeper, typically rubbing alcohol will remove the ink.

Our most general washing instructions apply to most of our products.

You can iron your bag on the cotton setting on your iron safely if you want to.
